Four years ago, they released the first in a series of ambitious movies each boasting a line-up of iconic action stars.
But even in their forties, fifties, and sixties, Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, and the rest of the crew have shown no signs of slowing down.
In the recently released trailer for The Expendables 3, 58-year-old Mel Gibson is revealed as the adversary to the team of veteran action heroes.
Gibson is revealed as ruthless arms dealer Conrad Stonebanks, who is determined to destroy the team, but ironically he is revealed as a co-founder of the Expendables.
In the clip, Gibson explains: 'We were close once, we started this whole Expendables thing together but we had a falling out.'
Obviously Mel is referring to leader of the team Barney Ross played by Stallone, 67, who brought together this rag tag gang of tough guys.
Other mainstays starring in the film are Jet Li, Dolph Lungren, Randy Couture, and Terry Crews.
However, the cast has plenty of new additions along with Gibson including Harrison Ford, Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, Kelsey Grammer, Kellan Lutz, and UFC female champion Ronda Rousey.
The trailer is chock full of action-packed clips set to the tune of Eminem's Berzerk.
One of the highlights of the video features the only woman in the group, Rousey, beating up on guys in what appears to be a club in Las Vegas. As they are watching, Stallone says, 'I could do that' to which Grammer replies, 'Want to slip on a dress and give it a shot?'
The conglomeration of scenes featuring explosions, fistfights, and daring stunts culminates with Stallone saying: 'These guys are nuts.'
The Rocky star not only plays a big part in the film but is also credited as a screenwriter on the film along with Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt.
Patrick Hughes, who is known for his work on Red Hill, was at the helm of the film.
The Expendables 3 is set for release in the UK on August 14.
