"I don't think of myself as either American or Australian really, I'm a true hybrid. It's a good thing for me because both of them are really good countries." - Mel Gibson
Mel Gibson had two dates for the 74th annual Golden Globe Awards this year.
The star was joined by his pregnant girlfriend, Rosalind Ross, on the red carpet Sunday.
Gibson was all smiles as he posed for photos with his girlfriend of two years.
Rosalind showed off her growing bump in a silver gown with a drop waistline, while Gibson kept his look classic in a navy black tuxedo.
Andrew Garfield learned a lot from working with Mel Gibson.
The actor stopped by E!'s Live From the Red Carpet to talk to Ryan Seacrest at the 2017 Golden Globes and revealed what he really thinks about his Hacksaw Ridge director. It turns out while on the set, Garfield and his co-star Vince Vaughn actually sat down and wrote a scene with Gibson.
"Mel....talking about coming from the gut," Garfield began. "Mel is all gut and heart and he, his instinct as a creative person as a man is very highly attuned, so, there was a scene he just didn't like. Didn't make sense for the story on the page and he called us in the morning of shooting and we wrote it in about half an hour together because he just didn't feel right."
Garfield continued, "And that's who he is he's incredibly instinctive and a formidable story teller, a visceral storyteller and really kind of hits audiences right where it hurts in a really good way I think."
No awards for Mel Gibson or Hacksaw Ridge during the Golden Globes.
La La Land’s Damien Chazelle won the golden globe for best directing this year. The same Golden Globe Mel Gibson was nominated for.
Gibson was nominated for his Australian-made war film Hacksaw Ridge, but Chazelle’s La La Land has scooped up major awards at the ceremony in Beverly Hills including screenplay and for Ryan Gosling for best actor in a musical or comedy film.
