April 1, 2018

Naomi Watts is in talks to star in the new action movie Boss Level.

The 49-year-old 'King Kong' actress is currently in negotiations to join Frank Grillo and Mel Gibson in the new movie by The Grey filmmaker Joe Carnahan, Variety report. The film has been penned by the Borey Brothers and Will Sasso will also be joining the cast.

Grillo is set to play Roy, a retired Special Forces veteran who is trapped in a never-ending loop, resulting in his death every year. It is not yet known who Watts, Gibson or Sasso will be playing.

A retired special forces officer is trapped in a never-ending time loop on the day of his death. Wallis will play Alice, a dental hygienist who hates teeth but has a huge crush on her patient Roy Pulver (Grillo). Since Roy has to repeat this particular day numerous times till he gets it right, Alice is frequently part of the repeating narrative, sometimes in bed alongside Roy as the first assassin of the day tries to murder him, as well as in other encounters with him.

As legend has it, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Sylvester Stallone have encouraged New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski to give Hollywood a shot this off-season, and it appears the tight end has listened, as sources tell the Tracking Board that Gronkowski will join Frank Grillo and Mel Gibson in Joe Carnahan’s action movie Boss Level.

Gronkowski’s role is being kept under wraps, but you can safely expect him throw a punch or two. Let’s just hope he takes off his Super Bowl rings first.

Boss Level is being financed by Emmett/Furla/Oasis, whose Randall Emmett and George Furla will produce alongside Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian. The film is being produced by E/F/O, Di Bonaventura Pictures and Ridley Scott’s company Scott Free, as well as Carnahan and Grillo’s War Party.
